REAL Top News Blog #2 (scratch the first one)
The article, "Italian scientists on trial for L 'Aquila earthquake," by Livia Borghese is a trial held for 7 seven scientists being prosecuted for the deaths of 300 people. An unannounced earthquake in Italy could have had a lot less damage than it did with the help of the geophysics scientists. They are being held for trial by the government for unpreparing the citizens of Italy. This is a very serious story because it makes citizens wonder how effective or trustworthy our own scientists are. California has a big disastrous earthquake record. Could we have been prevented by earthquakes that have shattered our homes or even killed people? It is a sad fact that if the scientists that work for Italy spoke up about a possible earthquake, lives would have been saved.

This story is about very educated high-ranked scientists that calculate Italy's future earthquakes and natural disasters which shows a high level of prominence. It is odd how these scientists knew about the earthquake but did not feel necessary to tell the public about it which shows novelty and emotions. This big conflict in Italy has led to those group of scientists on trial and charged for the deaths of over 300 people. The story has an impact much of Italy's damage to the country and people who lost lives and there families.
