It has immediacy beacuse it is an ongoing problem and the study keeps changing. The prominence pertains to America as a whole. The numbers keep climbing and new studies are showing more and more americans without health insurance which can affect all americans who pay for health insurance which involves conflict and emotion. It involves emotion because it is a sad statistic and it just shows how badly our economy is doing.
